Bulgaria Parliament Presents New Panel System for Voting

The new voting system to be used by the Bulgarian Members of the Parliament (MP) was introduced Monday by the Parliament's Chair Georgi Pirinski before reporters who have gathered in the Parliament's meeting hall.
The system costs over BGN 500,000 while its installation has taken the work of 20 people and over 1,000 workdays.
The voting panels and the results visualization boards have been replaced.
Until now each MP had two voting cards - one to be used as an ID and one for voting. With the new system, the MP's will have only one card to be used for both purposes, according to the Parliament's press center.
Pirinski did however, admit that the new system would make voting with somebody else's card more difficult, but not impossible.
"This is a matter of personal responsibility. I do not believe that this manner of voting should be limited by using technology advancements. In my opinion voting with my own card is the only honorable way to do it," the Chair stated for the media.
Pirinski demonstrated for the reporters the functioning of the new system and invited them afterwards for a cup of coffee in the renovated "MP" club, which has new hardwood floors, carpets and upholstery.
