US President Bush Backs Bulgaria's EU Entry
|
The US is supporting Bulgaria's entry into the European Union (EU), it appeared from a letter by US President George Bush sent to his Bulgarian counterpart Georgi Parvanov.
US Ambassador John Beyrle handed the letter to President Parvanov on Friday.
The EU enlargement has an important role for the implementation of the democracy principles and for Europe's prosperity and I strongly support Bulgaria's entry, Bush wrote in the letter. The letter also reads that the reforms that will be undertaken in Bulgaria will establish "favourable climate for investments" that would help the bilateral relations, the president press centre announced.
The president press centre also revealed that Parvanov has received a letter from French President Jacques Chirac in which he voices his country's support to Bulgaria and Romania timely EU entry. |
