Bulgarians - President Is Country Best Politician
|
Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov boasts the highest rating among the politics in the country a month before the general elections, opinion poll shows.
Parvanov's rating is 72%, followed by 68% of the Lieutenant-General Boyko Borissov, Interior Ministry Secretary General.
About 39% of the people asked say they trust Finance Minister Milen Velchev as a politician. He comes third in the "good politician" rating.
Country's Prime Minster Simeon Saxe-Coburg takes the eight place in the rating list with 32%. For a month he has lost 3% of his supporters, the survey, published in 24 daily, shows.
The Sofia Mayor Stefan Sofianski, who is also a leader of the Union of the free democrats, starts the pre-election campaign with the highest rating among the party leaders.
He is supported by 37%, followed by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Sergey Stanishev with 35%. Bulgarians put Nadezhda Mihaylova, leader of the rightists Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) on 9th place with a 32%.
The Mediana survey was conducted between May 21-26. |
